I think many a sports fanatic have been dreaming about it: to follow the likes of famous sports stars and carry the Olympic torch through rain and storm and to light up the flames at the Olympic stadium. Dreaming about following in the path of Carl Lewis and Pele, and raise the torch towards the sky. And now your dream can come true (instead of just waking up in the middle of the night screaming out the Olympic oath)



The Torch Relay of the Olympics in Torino offers anyone (almost) to be one of the torch bearers and run the extreme distance of 500 metres (for couch potatoes most used to watch television sports, you are also offered the option of walking). The only snag being that you have to have residence in Italy at the time. On the site there's a application form included some easy questions regarding the Olympics and some words to introduce yourself and your potential as a torchbearer.
